International Students

International students are invited to apply for all courses that are offered in the School of Medicine. Flinders is an international university, linked to every part of the world through its research excellence and innovative courses. We encourage applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds who will bring to the school a variety of talents and interests.

Applicants for all courses should have an enthusiasm for their area of study, a concern for the welfare of others in the community, and qualities that will enable them to benefit from self-directed and interactive learning techniques.

International applicants compete for places only against other international applicants. The quota for international students is additional to the quota for local students. International applicants are those who are not citizens or permanent residents of Australia, or citizens of New Zealand.

A range of scholarships are available in the School of Medicine.

The International Office runs special programs to help international students prepare and enjoy university life in Australia, and the on-campus Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) offers English instruction from beginning to university proficiency.
