Biography

After completing a Bachelor of Science at Flinders University, Gizelle carried on to study Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders, graduating with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2000. Her first position was within West Wimmera Health Service in rural Victoria which incorporated visiting numerous sites for clinical work, health promotion and 1:1 consultations. After returning to Adelaide Gizelle worked at Noarlunga Hospital in a clinical position, followed by work as a nutritionals representative for Nutricia, then 18 months at Wakefield Hospital as a senior clinical dietitian before taking a part-time position as a Research Associate at Flinders University . She has been working in the field of childhood overweight and obesity since May 2004. More recently doing some part-time teaching and coordinating a second year food & nutrition topic. Gizelle has also worked casually for the past 6 years consulting in her private practice.
