CNS Publication Prize
This Prize is open to all Flinders University
Centre for Neuroscience Members and is awarded to the ‘best’ paper
published within the nominated period (defined by the highest journal impact factor).
Criteria
- One (1) prize to be offered per year.
- Value of the prize is $2000 per year, with
an additional $1000 being awarded
if the paper is accepted by Nature, Science or Cell.
- The Applicant for the prize must be the first, final or corresponding
author of the paper.
- The Applicant must be a Staff Member or Student of Flinders
University.
- Paper must have “Centre for Neuroscience” noted
in author’s address.
- Annual timeline for the prize will be 1st November to 31st
October the following year. Paper must be published or accepted
into press by 31 October.
- A copy of the paper must be provided
with the application. Applications involving accepted papers
must include a ‘Letter
of Acceptance’ as proof.
- A paper’s ‘impact’ will be determined by
the most recent impact factors available at the time of the closing
deadline (30 November).
- In the event that there are 2 or more winners, the $2000 prize
money is to be split equally amongst the winners. In the event of uncertainty or disputes, the CNS Executive
will decide the winner of the prize based on their assessment
of the papers’ contribution to scientific progress. Where
a conflict of interest exists for CNS Exec Members, those members
will be excluded from deliberations.
To be eligible for the prize in 2012:
- The paper must be published between the 1st November 2011 and
31st October 2012.
- The closing deadline for 2012 applications is
30th November 2012.
The Winner will be announced at the CNS Annual General Meeting
in December.
NB: The Prize money must be transferred to
a University Account and cannot be paid directly to an individual.
The money can be spent at the winner’s discretion.
Applicants
must complete the following form and forward it (along with
a copy of the paper) to the CNS Secretary
by the close of business on the 30th November 2012. No late
applications will be considered.
