General Practice Teaching in the Graduate Entry Medical Program (GEMP)

Coordinator: Dr John Litt
Student Placement Liaison Officer: Ms Kerry Haarsma

Key members of the Department of General Practice teaching unit were awarded the Vice Chancellor's Team Prize for Innovation and Excellence in Teaching in 1999. This reflects our commitment to undergraduate teaching in the Graduate Entry Medical Program, our use of effective methods and our constant striving to improve our teaching through evaluation. We are involved in delivering quality teaching to all years of the GEMP.

These include:
clinical skills and consulting skills in first year
general practice intensive week/s in second year (on site teaching)
general practice term including seminars, and urban placements in third year,
and fourth year ambulatory general practice electives.
