Biographical Summary
Heather was appointed as the Senior Administrator of the Rural
Clinical School when it was established in late 2001, and is responsible
for contributing to the strategic direction of the School as well
as overseeing the allocation of resources to each of its programs
and providing support and direction to its administrative staff.
Heather graduated from the Australian National University in 1988
with Honours in Linguistics and Japanese and in the years following,
worked in a variety of teaching positions at ANU, NSW TAFE and the
School of Australian Linguistics in Batchelor NT.
In 1991 she joined the public service, spending 10 years with the
Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training, where
she provided policy advice on matters such as Indigenous higher
education funding, use of technology in higher education and the
impact of taxation reform on universities.
Having settled in Renmark after spending three decades in Adelaide,
Canberra and Tokyo, Heather is a committed and proud advocate for
country life and the growth and sustainability of regional communities.
For relaxation she enjoys exploring the river, reading fiction and
watching her favourite shows on the ABC.
